Blog Hog: 2,000

So, enough talk about Jeter, Dear Criss. What about Wakefield who got his 2,000th strikeout? Poor batter. What will we do when Wakey retires? He's such a part of Boston and has been there for a lifetime. He did very well during that game until the grand slam. He looked like he was sad to get pulled out of a milestone game in that manner. But he should be proud of himself - the strikeouts, not the GS!

Did I already mention that Vrabel was retiring? I wish he could have gone out as a Patriot. But come on, we will always think of him as one. And on a sad note, Bob Kraft's wife passed away. A lot of players had some very nice things to say. It was touching. What a tumultuous time for the Pats' owner - the lockout and this at the same time. In the grand scheme of things, it's his wife that counts the most.
