Blog Hog: Busy News Days

So Theo is a Cub, Tebow is a winner, T.O. had his workout, and Lackey needs surgery.

I'm gonna skip over the Lackey story, Dear Criss.

Theo has a new home, and I'm very happy for him. I think it's gonna be good for him. New place, fresh start. I'll keep an eye on the Cubs. Not rooting for a new team, but just monitoring things. After all, I am taking next season off.

And while the Tebow game on Sunday was b-o-r-i-n-g, I'm glad he pulled off a win. The haters don't need more to feed on. I love how Coach Ditka compared him to gold, which doesn't look that nice when you first find it.

Then there's T.O. I think he'll end up somewhere. Nobody's gonna show their cards, but they'll come through. He's in excellent shape, and I bet he still has some good stuff left.

As for the World Series ... not interested. Kinda boring, sorry. But good luck to those teams. May the least jerky bunch of guys win.

Happy Birthday, Steve!

Guess what today is, Dear Criss. It's Steve Young's 50th birthday! Now that's hard to imagine, and in doing so, it makes me feel a little, well, let's not use the "o" word. I remember when he was running in touchdowns and breaking his ribs and throwing impeccable passes. Time flies!

Once upon a time, Steve was a backup, wondering when he would have a chance. He sat back patiently awaiting his turn, and it came. Years later, he retired with a ring. Now it looks like Tebow will be starting against the Dolphins. I'm excited they're finally giving him a chance, and I h-o-p-e that he proves all the doubters and haters wrong. He really got things rolling when they stuck him in at the end of this week's game, but somehow that wasn't enough for all the sports analysts. It wasn't enough that he brought the team so close to a victory when it was clearly going to lose beforehand.

Let's see what happens, but no matter what, you can't judge him based on one game, so leave him in for a few to see what he's got.

As for the stinkin' Red Sox, still no word on Theo. I'm still upset about everything, but this is tormenting. Just call me when he accepts the job.

Play Me a Sad Song

Oh my gosh, I am an emotional wreck. And then you had to put up a picture of THAT guy?! Anyone but him. I am out of baseball next year. I'll re-assess next fall. It wasn't Francona's fault. The team has a bunch of spoiled, arrogant brats who can't win. To throw Francona under the bus for their failure drives me crazy. I think the Red Sox will experience the Curse of Tito for a while. I don't think our generation will see another World Series win.
