Post Thanksgiving Thoughts

Say no to Johan. Do not trade ANYONE, Theo. That's all I have to say, Dear Criss.

Also, I've been really disappointed on the coverage of Sean Taylor. One reporter said it best tonight when she said people are approaching this as if he were asking for what happened. Well he wasn't, and we all need to treat this tragic matter with some respect. It's a sad story. I was driving to work the morning I heard he died, and an officer from Florida City was driving past me with Taylor's UM jersey flapping outside of the backseat's window. It semed very real at that moment.

On another note, what's with the Pats and Steelers playing games that were waaay too close? I mean two nights in a row of close games against teams you would have never thought would give them a run for their money. And how 'bout the Mud Bowl? As for the Dolphins, I predict they beat the stinkin' Jets this weekend by three points.

Again, Theo, do not trade anyone. Stop it, and go on vaca or something.

And CONGRATS TO P. WHO HAD HER BABY!!!!

The Yanks are Back... and so am I!

Sean Taylor
1983-2007
RIP
Super late on this... sorry for the delay, Missy!

We have our three pivotal players back, Dear Roxy! Sooo excited to see that Alex, Mariano and Jorge will be back in pinstripes! It wouldn't have been the same without them! And now I hear that the Yanks are making a pitch for Johan. As much as I think he's great, I don't want to see the Yankees trading our young arms for him. These pitchers are our future!

The Heat are 4-10! They won last night in big fashion. Maybe this is a sign of things to come.Too bad we can't say the same about the Dolphins.
The 0-11 Dolphins! Wow. I feel bad for them. They keep losing these close games! At least they have one thing to look forward to... first round pick!

Did you watch Dancing with the Stars last night? Helio won. lol... I must admit I was rooting for the Spice girl. Ha!

Blog Hog: World Series MVP Good Choice

The "Re-sign Mike Lowell Post-World Series Campaign" is over! We can all have a Happy Thanksgiving. (Although I'm still not happy about the Cy Young award, the manager of the year and AL MVP, Dear Criss.) Mike, all of New England, Red Sox Nation, Ben Affleck and my favorite new Sox fan Jen Gardner and Sexiest Man Alive Matt Damon are proud of you. Thanks, Theo.

Here's to free dinners in the North End forevermore, Mike.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Boston Stars

Day 16: Re-sign Mike Lowell, Coco & Mirabelli Post-World Series Campaign

Pedroia is our AL Rookie of the Year!!! And nice cover of SI! So tell me that you saw highlights of the Steelers game. They were trailing for a while and then - Ben's heroics. What's up with your Colts? Was that two in a row? And speaking of losing game after game, I really thought the Dolphins might pull off a win against Buffalo. Man, that was lousy. OH MY GOSH, I am so sorry you suffered through the 'Canes in person. That's so sad. I can't talk about Miami sports anymore. Lets' go back to Boston for a sec.

I CAN'T FIND THE COMMEMORATIVE SI!!! If you see it, you have to get it for me, Dear Criss. PLEASE!!!!

And we salute our veterans today!

Sports 'weak'end!

I told myself I wouldn't stay up and watch the Colts-Charges game but I lied, Dear Roxy. Not only did I lie, but I'm pretty sure I gave myself an ulcer from watching the game! And not to mention that little comeback that almost happened made me go to bed upset! Not so good. Thanks, Vinny!

What's happening to my Colts? They played awful for the first 3 quarters last night. They looked like a 2-7 team as oppose to their 7-2 record. Luckily Manning, after 5 interceptions, pulled it off to give the ball to the always capable Vinny. Thanks again, Vinny! Argh!!!

And the Dolphins continue their winless season. I feel bad for them because they're not as bad as their 0-9 record shows. They've lost 5 games by 3 points. 5 games!!!

Did I tell you I went to the Canes game at the OB? Well, I did. The final game at the legendary Orange Bowl was a disaster for the Canes. They couldn't have done any worse. The best thing about the game was their mascot doing the Souljah Boy... I'm sure you know what I'm talking about ;)

I think Jorge is super close to resigning with the Yankees! Yay!!!!

Here's to better days!

Come on Lowell, Just Sign Here. ... Love, Theo

Day 12: Re-sign Mike Lowell, Mirabelli and Coco Post-World Series Campaign

You're just jealous your players aren't cool and enjoy their jobs and life.

Okay, I didn't realize this, but we are keeping Wakey. Was that even a question? And what shouldn't be a question, Dear Criss, is whether we're keeping Mirabelli. We've been through this before, people. Does anyone not remember the desperate moments of flying the man in from California and having him change in the back of a state trooper's car speeding to Fenway? I know the story gets a little more dramatic everytime, but not having Mirabelli makes things more dramatic. He's Tek's buddy, man. Come on. Nobody in the whole wide world can catch Wakey like Belli. NOBODY. And nobody is as reliable as a back up to my Varitek.

As for Gagne, The Boston Globe wrote, "Boras said yesterday that Eric Gagne will pursue a role as a closer this off-season, meaning he will not return to the Red Sox."

So you guys didn't give away the whole team for Miguel Cabrera? I didn't think you would give up Joba for anyone. Now the Heat's apparently trying to compete with the Dolphins. That's pretty embarrassing.

You forgot your boys dress like that on a regular basis, Dear Roxy. Tacky as can be.
And I could care less about Schilling and company. All I read is blah blah blah.

Now to other and better news (lol), the Yankees are working, and working hard I hope, to resign Jorge and Mariano.

I'm glad to see the Yankees won't be trading Joba, Phil and Ian for Miguel Cabrera of the Marlins. Not that I don't like Miguelito, because I do, but Joba and co. are the future of that Yankee rotation.

Football: Don't get me started on the whole Pats thing... I'm still fuming over that one. Argh!!!

The Heat are 0-4. Ouch... I can see how much they miss Wade. A close source (coworker) says he's suppose to come back next week.

I seem to be a bit upset about sports overall. I haven't watched SportsCenter all week long. How weird is that?

Blog Hog: The Big Schill

Day 10: Re-Sign Mike Lowell Post-World Series Campaign

Listen up, Dear Criss, we got Schilling back and I feel good about that. Good call, Theo. He better retire next season, 'cause I don't want any more of this letter-writing drama. Now my Papi had surgery and is allowed to be a little dramatic. And Yoooouk? Well, he's only a Gold Glover!

Now for Lowell...

"Epstein has also made it abundantly clear that re-signing Lowell - who has become hugely popular in Boston - is a higher priority than trying to go after free agent third baseman Alex Rodriguez. 'With respect to third basemen, signing Mike is our clear priority,' Epstein told the Boston Herald. 'We're going to work hard at that and really hope to get something done.'" (Boston Globe)

So we've got exclusive negotiating rights until November 12. Hello, people!

And nice work Ben Roethlisberger! I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Ben beats the Pats by two in December. I know it's crazy, but I think this could be the big upset of the year. Let's not forget how well Ben's doing. I mean I'm not blind to Brady's talent, but I'm just saying, I remember the 49ers-Eagles game in 1994, and nobody expected that outcome. By the way, happy super-late birthday to Steve Young (10/11).

Until next time,
Roxy

P.S.
Yes, this is an '80s birthday party for Shonda Schilling, and Varitek is wearing a mullet and parachute pants.

Ribs, Country & the Pats + a Parade

Day 8: Re-sign Lowell & Schilling Post-World Series Campaign

Like the player has no control over the agent. They were made for each other, those two. Under no circumstances do I want him around. There was barely any coverage of the Sox parade, too, since we're talking about complaints. Wait 'til I have more time. I'm gonna throw crazy amounts of pictures on here.

So the Heat's not so hot in its opener, but the Pats took control today keeping their perfect record intact! Holy smokes, what a great game. I told my brother, the Pats by three. Turned out to be four, but it was incredible. I missed the first half because I was at the RibFest in Homestead where Phil Vassar, country singer-songwriter extraordinaire, was performing. Loved it! He sang a crazy range of covers and a bunch of his own stuff. He's written everone's music - Tim McGraw, Colin Ray, JoDee Messina... My fovorites are the ones he sings. You missed a good one. We were right up front.

Okay, gotta run. We'll catch up next time!

Go Pats!

Changes

So much has changed since the Yankees lost in the division series, Dear Roxy. We've lost the best manager one could ever hope for, and arguably the best baseball player… ever!

And so we get another Joe; Joe Girardi. I was a bit shocked… just a bit… to say the least. I thought Mattingly had the job. In my eyes, everything pointed to that.

And I won't lie. I am a bit skeptical about Girardi managing now. After all, he did play with many of the Yankee veterans, but hopefully he’ll prove me wrong. He is, after all, a great manager. He did wonderful things with what little the Marlins had, and I only hope he can do the same with the Yankees.

So, with that said… Welcome back, Joe!

And so Joe Torre seems to have a new job with the LA Dodgers. And it seems he's taken a 3-year, $15 million contract. That, my friend, is less than what the Yankees offered him. It goes to show that it was never about the money, but about respect. Something the Yankees forgot to give him. Hopefully Joe will do wonders on the West Coast. Best of luck to him. He'll be greatly missed in the Bronx [tear tear].

And blah, blah, blah on your ARod insults. It wasn’t ARod who came out and said it, it was his manager.

In other news, I know is a bit late but did you see the end to that MNF game? Wow, Favre still got it. That was pretty amazing.

And in basketball news, hopefully tonight will be the start of a great season for the Miami Heat, especially after that horrific pre-season.

And I cannot wait for Sunday at 4pm! You and Me; Tom and Peyton… it is on! The battle of the undefeated! Blood will be splattered!
