We Miss You, Trot!

BRING HIM BACK! Love the standing o. The man deserves it, and no one can cover that corner like he can at Fenway. WAHHHHH!!

The whole Hill story is really sad. I couldn't believe it. I guess you never can.

I don't want to hear anything about Clemens. Not a peep. And my Jazz? BLOWING IT! I'm so mad. They played a great game this weekend and terrible last night.

Countdown to Red Sox-Yankees at Fenway this weekend, Dear Criss. Varitek just hit a home run and Youkilis is en fuego, as dear Dan Patrick would say. Not to mention Pedroia - it took like 10 swings the other day, but he got it. It's so exciting. NY security guard at work is talking Red Sox - Mets in the World Series. Dunno, too early. I really need satellite t.v. I'd be a NESN junkie.

Not ready...

to through in the towel, Dear Roxy, but it's definitely frustrating. I'm beginning to think the Yankees are gonna be out : But there's still hope, so I'll hang on to that... for now!

Roger Clemens pitched well in his third minor league start. Do you think he'll be ready for the Yankees-Red Sox series this weekend? Interesting to see.

I read about the Patriots' Marquise Hill. Sad and shocking story. May he rest in peace.

In basketball, the Jazz and Cavs are on the brink of extinction. Damn! I have no idea who I will root for come the finals. These two teams have won a championship recently and I really could care less.

Rematch

I suppose when you read my posts you feel equally grossed out as I do when I feel yours, Dear Criss. The total love fest for even the smallest things the Yankees do: "The Yankees smiled at a little girl today." "The Yankees helped a stray dog cross the street." "Jeter stopped the play to allow a guy to drink his beer undisturbed."

While I am not thrilled with the outcome of our last series (as usual, questionable calls), I'm ready for the next match-up in, what, two weeks? And I guess the league wants to chat with your buddy Giambi. Meanwhile, it's a long weekend, and guess what? I have the day off and took off yesterday. So things are g-o-o-d. I think they may show the Rangers game, so I wouldn't mind a good game on my day off or this weekend.

Anyway, I am big-time craving KFC and am debating whether or not to make it a reality. HOLY SMOKES, we have to discuss me meeting Anderson Cooper (How did that transition happen? Mashed potatoes: Anderson Cooper). Did I already give you the full story? I somehow remember leaving a screaming "I MET ANDERSON COOPER" voicemail, but otherwise I don't remember; I think I told everyone in sight already. It was very cool. I got my book signed, exchanged a few words, and have funny stories.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND! Remember our troops!

Rookies

Our rookie pitchers seem to be the driving force of the pitching staff, Dear Roxy. That's okay with me as long as we keep winning!

This Red Sox-Yankees series was a lot better for the Yankees this time around... hopefully we can continue this trend. I feel as if I say this everytime I write on the blog but it's the truth.

Congrats to our ROOKIE pitcher Tyler Clippard for winning his first major league game and getting his first major league hit in his first start Sunday night against the Mets! He pitched like a veteran... not to mention he's only 22 or 23!

Congrats to DEREK JETER for getting his 2,214th, 2,215th and 2,216th hit of his career to pass Joe DiMaggio into fifth place on the Yankees' all-time hits list!!!! Is he awesome or what?!

We should all thank the Yankees for donating $1 million dollars to the Virginia Tech Memorial Fund. Thank you.

In other sports, I feel as if everytime I root for a team they end up losing. With this in mind, I will start rooting for the Spurs and Pistons :)

Have a nice and safe Memorial Day weekend!!!

It Can Only Get Better (I Hope)

I'm totally going for the Jazz, Dear Criss. It figures you'd pick all the other teams. Poor Nash is getting assaulted at every game; I mean those guys are brutal. I suppose I can semi support the Suns, but I'm all about the Jazz. If only Stockton could've gotten a ring...

So apparently Yankees-loving security guard at work is no longer speaking to me. Listen, I'm loving the fire that's driving these guys. It's crazy. Matsuzaka's warming up, unfortunately Beckett needs a permanent Band-Aid. Lester needs to hurry up! Gotta keep this momentum going. So what if we lost tonight.

So you're going to the Subway Series - NICE!!! I need to hear the stories immediately. Oh, and on a totally separate note - no more GG!!!! AHHHHH!! So Sad.

Roxy

P.S.
I dare not comment on Tom Brady's team tastes. I wouldn't want to offend his Yankees-based fan club. But I invite him to throw out the first pitch in his little Yankees hat. Why not? It lacks taste! He doesn't play for the Dolphins and is spotted wearing a Tigers hat - I mean, this is the fiercest rivalry. Brett Farve can wear an Angels cap, and I really don't think anyone would care. Oh, my gosh, I'm not talking about this anymore.

Mets-Yankees

I didn't tell you! Or did I?
I am going to the Mets-Yankees game at Yankee Stadium next month!!!!

I'm flying to New Jersey for my cousin's wedding and it just happened to fall on the weekend of the Subway Series! I couldn't have planned it any better myself!!!!

I'm loving it!

PS That's my view... I'm in the bleachers.

Moving Along

The Yankees didn't do that good of a job this weekend, Dear Roxy. They were starting to get it together and now not so much. But this is a new week... let's hope for the best!

I am, however, extremely glad that Matt DeSalvo finally got his first major league win!!! Wooo-hoo!!! After that umpire messed it up for him the last time, Matt came out and did a stellar job. Congrats, Matt. That's just the first of hundreds to come!
I am rooting for the Warriors, Suns, Nets and Bulls, although they did win against the Heat.
I really, really, really like the Suns!

Congrats to the Giants rookie for hitting for the cycle! And that's the only Giant I will be congratulating : Well, maybe I'll congratualte the other one when the moment comes... BUT only with an asterick!

PS: Someone got mad at you for not liking Brady and his new favorite team! LOL

Tom Brady + Roger Clemens = BFF

I can’t believe you just threw that picture in my face, Dear Criss. Well, I don’t care because I am officially not a Tom Brady fan anymore. I can still root for the Pats and for him to do well, but there is no, "GO TOM!" here. No sir-ree.

And so what if you got Roger Clemens? Still doesn’t mean you can kick back. You can have him. I don’t need another guy like Brady thinking about another team. I don’t need a questioning of loyalty. I don’t want him in a Red Sox uni while he’s daydreaming about playing catch with Jeter who’s at bat. BLECH!

You were next to Dan Patrick? You didn’t tell me that!!!! I love Dan Patrick. He’s the funniest ESPN man EVER! Well, Stuart Scott, actually, might be the funniest, but Dan originated funny on Sportscenter.

Okay, am I crazy or did I hear the Jazz were still in this? And I’m glad you liked the Marlins game. You gotta tell me how close you were.

Comeback? ROGER THAT!

Guess who's back in pinstripes, Dear Roxy? I'm sure you've heard it by now! Yes, that would be Roger Clemens!!! I couldn't be happier!

Talk about a flare for the dramatic. It started with a nice bench-clearing-wanna-be-fight on the seventh inning. Right after that, Roger annoucing to the over 52,000 fans in attendance he was a Yankee once again. Beautiful.

The game was great too; a shotout! Something different for this pitching staff who has been injured all year.

Talking about pitching, how about Chien-Ming Wang? (You know I had to go google the spelling on his name.) He was amazing Saturday afternoon... taking a perfect game into the eight inning. It sucked watching him lose it but what can you do?

By the way, thank you so much for the Marlins' tickets. Maria, Little Gio and Me had lots of fun in what seemed to be 100 degree weather. I was hoping for some rain. It just happened a few hours to late. Anyway, great seats too! Once again, thank you... farmer's tan and all!

And in other news, I wanted the Suns to win! Nash's nose couldn't stop bleeding! Who would've thought your nose could bleed so much. LOL. That guy is amazing. That series will go 7 games... I can see it!

Mayweather-De La Hoya fight: Didn't watch it... I was busy partying with some Mexicans!

PS

You know I had to post this, right? I mean, how could I let this moment pass us by? No way I could've!

Enjoy it!

With love,

PSS: I always liked that Brady guy. LOL

just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

Sad weekend is right, Dear Roxy. Josh Hancock's death, the second in five years for the Cards, puts a lot of things into perspective. I feel bad for his family, the team and the baseball family. May he rest in peace.

Talking about deaths, Cory Lidle's and his intructor's death was caused by a misjudgment of a U-turn. How the hell do they come up with these things is my question.

Anyway, the Yankees won last night and they won Saturday too. That means we've won 2 out of 3!!! I'm trying to look at the bright side of things. I have to! I mean, the youngster Phil Hughes had a no-hitter going into the 7th, we had a huge lead, and what happens? Oh, yes, a hamstring! That's what happened!!!! Now Hughes is out for 4-6 weeks. WTF?!#%^. Not only that, but we also lost Jeff Karstens on that Saturday game after that line drive. A broken leg!
We need our pitchers!!!! [this is me about to cry]

Wait, did Papelbon allow a run... and eventually a loss? [this is me chuckling]

In other sports, the Heat are out! Damn! And guess who was at the game? Me! I got to rub shoulders with Dan Patrick, PTI's Michael Wilbon and CBS-4's Jim Berry to name a few.
Tell me something good.
