I just turned my computer on to wish the most amazing and patient friend a happy birthday.

Happy Birthday, Dear Roxy!
I hope it's been a great one! And wishing you the best on your xx year!

Lots of Love,
Criss

PS I promise, promise to turn on my computer this weekend and write a much awaited blog.

PSS I'm surprised said blog hasn't been turned into a Red Sox shrine. Thank goodness!

Blog Hog: Countdown to Playoffs

Looks like I own the site now, Dear Criss! Hee, hee. I'm blog hogging away.

First question: Why was the Pats/Green Bay game so close? We're approaching playoffs and can't have this going on. I admit, it did keep things interesting (and scary). I think the Pats will go to the Super Bowl, but against which team? My sister was thinking the Eagles. I guess that would be a rematch of the game from a few years ago. That combo doesn't quite feel right.

Around the league: It's exciting to hear Tebow will be starting. I think he'll surprise people throughout his career. And then there's the continuous Favre drama. I hated to see him go down last night. It looked like a concussion, regardless of what they say. I guess the phrase is "head injury." I think he may have even lost consciousness for 2-3 seconds. Was that the end of his career? If so, it would be reminiscent of Steve Young's final game. That hit was truly nasty, though.

When you reappear, I need to know what the deal is with the Yankees not clinching the big deals. Which is fine. No complaints here. Oh by the way, you missed Varitek on the Today Show!

Winter Wonderland

Wow, that Dolphins game had some drama, Dear Criss. Kinda like Lifetime for men. Who trips people after third grade? Well, apparently the stinkin' Jets. I love what Channing Crowder said: "I wish they’d tripped me. I’d have broken that old man’s leg."

And my Pats ate up the poor Bears. Packers are next. Speaking of, former-Packer Brett Favre is breaking the streak tonight. Guess the extra day didn't help. The footage of that dome roof caving in yesterday was nuts! Did you see that?

Well, I guess we can both rest a little better now that our captains are back. Yours will play more than mine, but I'm still happy. And I'm starting to warm up about Carl Crawford. Looks much better (and nicer) in a Red Sox uni.

Yankee Forever.

The Yankees finally came to their senses and signed Jeter to three more years, plus an option for the fourth, Dear Roxy. I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Derek Jeter, the captain, the face of the Yankees will be a Yankee forever. Let's take a moment and thank the baseball Gods.

The same goes for Mo, and maybe even Posada. Now off to get Cliff Lee. The saga continues.

The Heat are finally nice and hot with their win streak. Maybe that "push" did something to light their fire.

I'm sorry the same can't be said about the Dolphins. Their .500 record is far from a playoff spot with your Pats and the stinkin' Jets fighting for first/wild card spot. There's always next year seems like it... again!

What's next for the Canes?

Wheeling and Dealing

Carl Crawford. How do I root for someone I've despised for years, Dear Criss? I can't even put his picture up here; it's too much for me to handle. This is along the lines of Lugo. Although this is undoubtedly a big deal, I'm not excited because we always get big name players and are disappointed by their performance.

Are you gonna get Cliff Lee?

Sure wasn't disappointed by the Pats this week. (The Colts lost to Dallas?!) They took the Jets to school on Monday night. I think one of the announcers described it as a clinic. Don't remember, but I loved it. I was kinda hoping it would be more competitive, but that's fine. Is this a preview of the playoffs? Hope not. It'll be over in the first quarter.

YAAAAAYYY!

VARITEK IS COMING BACK! YAHOOOO! Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year's! I am a very happy fan! I squealed in delight. This is great. One year, $2 mil and some incentives. I can't even speak!

There is hope for Jeter (or is it Posada?), Dear Criss.
