Chad!

Oh my gosh, Dear Criss. If I told you a year ago that the Dolphins would make the playoffs and the Pats wouldn't, would you have believed me? Oh, man, poor Jason Taylor. If only he stuck around. What about Zack Thomas? What's this that Huizenga wants to sell - now that he's winning after 400 years of losing?! Is that rumor or fact?

The Pats are out. Hm. But what's really embarrassing is Romo. OH MY GOSH - send Brett to Dallas! Did I not say that months ago? And Mangini is out?! Whoa! Crazy. Where will he land? I strrrrongly advise Bill Cowher to stay retired and NOT go to any stupid team to suffer and get fired. Not the Jets and not the Broncos (poor Shanahan). He went out as a winner and should stay out as a winner. I don't care if they offer 68 trillion dollars. Um, I know they're not headed to the Super Bowl, but did you notice the 49ers won again this week? Hey!

Alright, so now you landed Tiexiera? There you go hoarding all again. Wait - did I already know that? I'm all confused. A.J. Burnett, C.C. Sabathia and Tiexiera? Whatevs. As of yesterday, I am now older than Tiexiera. I seem to be getting older than everyone. But hey, at least Chad is older than me. Now I don't feel so old.

Um, what's with Ben getting taken off the field in a stretcher? Freaked me out! He was on the ground for almost 15 minutes, people. Of course, it's another concussion. Third in three years. That's not good. Don't make me give you the Steve Young speech. Oh goodness. I don't need anymore gray hairs.

Strong work, Chad! Everyone better buckle up for Baltimore.

The Dolphins are in!

I forgive you, Dear Roxy, and only because yesterday was your birthday.

Happy belated Birthday on behalf of Sporting Gals.

Hope you had a great time.

I am HAPPY! The Dolphins made it to the playoffs!! Woooo-hoooo!!!!! I'm so happy and relieved. Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch it since I was at Cirque du Soleil (fantastic show btw), but I did see all the highlights I could possibly see!

All the hard work finally paid off for these guys. Chad was amazing! Sorry about Brett, but I said before - these are the Dolphins!

So guess what? I won't be able to wach the game this Sunday either [insert tears here]. I'm going camping and I doubt that I'll be back before the game is over! I'm just gonna have to call people for updates like I did this past Sunday.

My happiness doesn't end there, Rox! Your dirty Pats and Romo's Cowboys are gone too! Woo-hoo! You know how I feel about Brady, and well, Romo annoys me at times. There's always next year boys... maybe your girlfriends can console you. hehe

In the meantime, go Dolphins!!!!!

Happy New Year, Dear Readers.

America campeon!

Too many reasons to celebrate, Dear Roxy. Not only did the Dolphins win yesterday, but the Yankees completed the deal for CC and AJ and stiffed Manny [insert big cheesy smile here], and America Cali won the championship. I'll explain the latter later.

The Dolphins didn't play the best, but ended up with the win. I don't blame them playing for so-so in that 10-degree weather!

With that, they now have to win agains the J-E-T-S. Now, I don't dislike the Jets or Brett, as you know, but these are the Dolphins we're talking about! The mighty Dolphins that have come out of nowhere to be one game away from their first playoffs in years! Go get 'em 'fins!

I'm glad we agree on that!

Yes, I heard the Yankees said they wouldn't go for Manny! Thank goodness! Can't stand him and his not-ready-to-play-BUT-let-me-go-get-a-drink-in-between-outs-attitude! Stick it!

As far as America de Cali - they're the futbol team from Cali, Colombia. They just won their first futbol (soccer) championship since 2002 and I couldn't be happier. My family and I have always been a fan! And now we celebrate their victory! Woo-hoo!!!

Rox, I am out for the rest of the year at work starting tomorrow since they closed the office for the holidays :) With that said, I'll be checking the computer periodically. If you don't hear from me, please don't litter the blog with Sox stuff... please! jk

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Be safe and enjoy!

The Brink of Success

Um, is it true, or did I dream that the Dolphins are one win away from clinching a title? WHAT?! This has been a dream season. No matter what happens, these guys are terrific and that coach - where has he been hiding all these post-Shula years? Not too shabby, Dear Criss. (I imagine you're at work and have to be there tomorrow, too. Maybe they'll let you out early.)

The Steelers played l-o-u-s-y yesterday. Ben had four turnovers. Is he dating Jessica Simpson, too? Heaven forbid! Knock on wood, go to the forest, go to Home Depot - whatever it takes. Just find wood. (Romo, she's destroying you. Famous girlfriends always ruin sports careers.) That's frustrating when they can absolutely play better, but at least Tennessee is pretty good. They could've lost to the Lions. But the 49ers - hello?! New coach, new look. Could they be making a comeback? Oh my.

And Manny says he's confident he'll get an offer from the Yankees, but you guys are just denying away such talk. Barf. Some things never change. You know, they would make a great couple.

Yankees Christmas

I guess Christmas came early for the Yankees, Dear Roxy. Or better yet, for CC and AJ! Hopefully they'll do great in pinstripes. I can't wait for the season to start. Hopefully new stadium means playoffs!

And how about them Dolphins? They gave me a heart attack in the last few minutes of the game, as usual, but they pulled it off again! Woo-hoo!!!!

Off to Kansas City we go!

In other football news, the Mannings are playing in the Pro Bowl. The first brothers to ever do so in the same year! Papa Manning must be so proud.

BTW, I am 0-2 when it comes to Miami Heat games. I went to the game Friday night to experience another loss.

Should I give up on that?

PS: I like the new Sox uniforms. hahahaah

Money and the Yankees

Well, it looks like you're at it again buying players' souls over in New York, Dear Criss. Every year, you throw in the bank and the kitchen sink. Now history hasn't been on your side lately when it comes to bringing big names in with big number$. But who knows with C.C. and A.J. - even if Burnett's not official. I'm sure you're excited. Toronto always gives my Sox a hard time, so maybe it doesn't make sense, but I'd rather have him on the Yankees.

So the Heisman is right around the corner. Who will it be? I want to say it will not be Tebow, but he's such a big shot right now, it would be hard to bet against him. If he doesn't get it though, he's still a star. Poor thing'll probably end up with the Lions.

Still waiting for the Sox to re-sign Varitek. Still waiting. Instead of getting down to serious business, they're messing around with a perfectly fine uniform. They changed it! Instead of the "B" hat, it's the little socks. People!!! That's the stupidest thing I ever heard. Boston is the "B" - hello?!!! I hate the away colors. Am I watching the Yankees or the Red Sox? You can't change the logo?! There goes the season.

C.C. Sabathia is very near a seven-year, $160 million deal with the Yankees, Dear Roxy!
Hooray for C.C.!

Excited for the Dolphins

Hooray for another Dolphin win, Dear Roxy! These guys are getting me real excited as they moved into a three-way tie for the AFC East lead with New York and New England!!!

As far as Plaxico, I really don't have a lot to say about that either. It's a shame what happened, and I guess we'll never know the complete truth. He's also been suspended for the rest of the season, not that it matters anyway, as his injury would've prevented him from playing.
The same goes for OJ Simpson. I really don't know what to say about that!

Congratulations to the Virginia Tech Hokies for their BCC win against Boston College in Tampa Bay. I was in Tampa this weekend and was able to capture a lot of mascots at Tampa's Channelside, which included our own Sebastian.

Congratulations as well to the Gators. Although I'm not a huge fan, being a Canes fan and all, they played a lot better.

Interested to see who gets the #1 spot.

In baseball, congratulations to former Yankee second baseman Joe Gordon for getting into the Baseball Hall of Fame!

And A-Rod will be playing for the Dominican Republic in the 2009 WBC. Good for him. But what's up with the whole Madonna thing? Eh, not interested.

Blog Hog: 500 + 1 Posts!

Dear Criss, do you realize we've hit post number 500? In fact, this is number 501!

I'm happy to hog the blog this week with Red Sox, Steelers and Patriots news. Hee, hee. So here's the scoop (um, I guess it's not really scoop if it's all over the news): Pedroia got a lovely $40.5 million, six-year contract with a club option in 2015. What's up with Jacoby? When's he gonna get a contract in the millions? Let's help these kids pay the bills. No, but really, Jacoby deserves a nicer contract that closely matches Dusty's. Now I know he kinda slumped a little last season, but he's one of the two reasons we won another World Series in 2007. The other reason I just covered.

And then there's news Theo said it's an option to keep Varitek AND pick up the catcher of the future. Don't care how that works, just re-sign Varitek, send him to a retreat in the mountains of some foreign country and hire a private batting coach for him.

Also, my Sox picked up another Japanese pitcher, and he looks at least 15. He also looks like an old college friend who is blonde with blue eyes - but don't ask. Meet Junichi Tazawa. He'll hang out in the minors for a while. But as my wise mother said, "We're not gonna get excited yet." You know what happens when you do.

So what's up on your side of the sports world?
