CHAMPIONS!!!

I am so sorry for the delay, because I know you were looking forward to this entry like a root canal, Dear Criss. But let me have my moment to scream WOOO HOOO! MY SOX DID IT!!! What a looong night. I am still recovering from Sunday. Last night was my first good-night's sleep in a long time. I really didn't want a game five. When Colorado came within one, I thought I was going to puke. But then Old Trusty Jon Papelbon came out and took control of the game.

Thumbs down for A-Fraud and his usual tricks: Don't be a punk and try to steal our thunder in the middle of the World Series game. Note: WE DO NOT WANT JERKS IN BOSTON. Go somewhere else. NOTE TWO: SOX BRASS BETTER NOT EVEN THINK OF TRADING OUR WORLD SERIES MVP. And I guess we could've figured out that Girardi would get the job in NY. Get ready for some real pressure, mister.

Anyway, the parade is today, and I hope there's some coverage. How cool is this? Two World Series wins in my lifetime! Not many Sox fans can say that. Love our 16-year-old players. Add a zero to these boys' salaries, John Henry. And Bobby Kielty is like Dave Roberts - coming through when we need it. Wow. Let's all dye our hair red to show our appreciation. Love to all the Sox players for the trophy after a year's worth of craziness!

Let me soak this all in for a little bit.

All Sox on Deck

Suddenly you turned me into a NY-style bragger who parades around declaring how much better they are than everyone else. HELLO?! Someone's just sour graping it over there. I mean, I may be happy, but I'm not rubbing it in people's faces. Just an occasional "woo-hoo" when I call you. It does seem like someone's doing a little extra whining and crying (cue violin). Come to the other side, Dear Criss. We accept folks who realize their mistakes in life.

Game one was out of control (in a good way) with scoring by the Sox, so, as you can imagine, game two made me a little nervous because it was so conservative. But you should be thanking Jacoby Ellsbury for getting you a free taco. The Schill gave a great performance, Beckett showed his usual no emotions in pitching a fine game. I am so sick of people saying how Schill doesn't have it like he used to, and asking if he can pull through another one, like he's 82 or something. Then by the end of the game, when he's doing well, all the commentators suddenly are his biggest supporters. Shut Up! Can we have games without commentary? I suppose I just need NESN. Good, biased commentating.

Did you check out Papelbon dancing? Wait, I think you already covered that with me. I'm on meds, come on!

GO SOX!

Not giving up

Yes, Dear Roxy, the Sox have come back again. Blah blah blah! You are forgetting, however, that they sure did look destructible at one point or another. That gives those mighty Rockies something to hope and fight for. And Coors Field shouldn't be a field trip for the Sox either. It should be a hell of a series... if the Rockies win! The last think I want to hear is you bragging all winter about your boys. Enough already!

In other baseball news, oh, Torre! Although I am extremely saddened that Torre won’t be coming back to manage the Yankees, I am glad to see him leave on his own terms, sort of. Any other team would’ve given him a lifetime contract. But no, not the Yankees. Instead, they offer him a pay cut! And I’m not saying $5 million is pocket change, but come on?! Torre has taken us to the playoffs 12 years in a row, has won 10 AL East titles and 6 AL pennants, 4 world championships AND 3 in a row! Who else has done that? No one! How am I suppose to watch Yankees games without Torre on the bench? He’s the only Yankees manager I’ve seen… the one that made me care for the Yankees, other than Jeter. This is, in fact, the end of a legacy… the only one I’ve known. [Insert tears here].

And on to other sports-related news, it seems everyone has forgotten about the undefeated Colts! Well, they reminded everyone, myself included, last night that they’re still better than ever. Everyone keeps talking about Brady and the Pats, but the Colts are there as well. Let’s keep at it!

Too bad I can’t say the same about the winless Dolphins. This season keeps getting worse and worse. I think they’re playing for next year’s first-round pick, or at least it seems like it.

The Canes managed a win against the Noles! That was a great end to what seemed like a Noles eventual win! Glad to see they didn’t give up.
And since giving up is out of the question, there's always next year, Yanks, there's always next year.

The Comeback Kids: ALCS CHAMPS!

WE DID IT!!!!

What a series. Beckett kept us alive, Drew was a STAR with his GRAND SLAM!!! How long has he been holding on to that?!! More of that, JD!!! Pedroia's home run rocked the house and still gives me goosebumps. Millar throws out the first pitch -LOVE IT! Jacoby lifted us up with his ability to make things happen in so many capacities. Thank you Matsu, Schill and Wakey. This is an Oscar speech. Love to everyone. Yoooouk hits the Coke bottles for an HR and Coco makes a great game ending catch. Everybody played a fantastic role, and I don't want to overlook anyone's efforts, but you know, Dear Criss, I could go on forever. So excuse me, I gotta go watch some more highlights! Beat the Rockies in four, guys! I need my sleep.

GO SOX!!

Seal the Deal

I am so tired from last night, but it was worth it because my boys showed signs of life. This hasn't been the most fun series, but I'm not giving up. I've literally seen worse with a positive ending that accompanied a ring. Glad this is going back to Fenway. We need our fans to be ROWDY and LOUD as heck. Some one call Queer Eye and get our boys nice massages and meditations and calming music, or something. We gotta do it. One of the gals at work bought me a box of Cocoa Krispies and stuck a "Go Sox" sign on it. It was great! She just discovered Jonathan Papelbon, declaring him her new boyfriend (despite having recently gotten married), and I'm proud to have been a part of that. She also experienced footage from the ALDS of him doing the Irish jig in his underwear. Keep the good vibes going! Happy thoughts only, please.

As for your destructive Yanks, Dear Criss, I know it's really hard for you, but I think Varitek sums up my feelings best in Newsday:

"I'm all tapped out," Varitek said. "I've had enough of the Yankees. There's a lot of other good stories out there."

Hang in there. SportsCenter was throwing around A-Fraud as a Marlin. Just 1:1,000,000 rumors right now.

Could the Dolphins upset the Pats? You know they give the Pats a hard time each year. Hm. New England better watch out. Yikes.

GO SOX!

Denial: Over

Yes, Dear Roxy, I've been hiding underneath my bed, in my closet, in the trunk of my car and somewhere on the clouds (no cloud 9 here)... but I'm back and reeling from the pain that my Yanks, for three years in a row, have gone down in the Division Series.

I will say this though: BRING TORRE BACK! The Yanks were a mediocre team before he came in 1996… and for 12 years the Yanks have been on top… Lucky #13! Bring him back, dammit!!!

And with that said, bring back Posada, Rivera and Arod too! No kidding rule in effect here.

And how about them Rockies? First trip to the World Series. Good for them as they've been the hottest team in baseball... 21/22 games is unreal!

I won't say much about the Sox-Indians series but you know who I'm rooting for! hahahah

Let's Get Crazy

Loudspeaker Announcement

Attention, Dearest Sox: I need to see more of this (flash pictures on Jumbotron). I need us to not blow leads or give up enormous amounts of runs. Please win tomorrow night and every time there after. Please don’t blow this opportunity. I need every pitcher to channel the Beckett in him.

Don't trade Lowell.

***
And, where are you, Dear Criss? Are you still depressed about your Yanks?

Gotta run - Dallas-Pats are on right now.

Blog Hog: ALDS Champs!

Bring on the Indians or Yanks, Dear Criss. For one night, I'll root for Cleveland (sorry, Trot). How 'bout that boy in the stands making that great catch in game 2?

Steelers still rockin': 4-1 (That loss to AZ last week was not cool. Hello?!)
Pats: 5-0 (Pats-Cowboys next week is going to be outstanding.)
Niners: 2-2
Your Dolphins: 0-5
Your stinkin' Colts: 5-0

GO SOX ALL THE WAY!

Joshtober

Hot! That was an incredible pitching job by the man who rarely smiles. Fantastic. And tonight, Matsuzaka! Bring it all tonight, Dice-K. I think he'll be just fine and is excited to show just what he can do.

It turns out, Dear Criss, that I have a little cold. I stayed home today and have kept my blankets company. I have used almost all the toilet paper around because I ran out of tissues and refuse to go to the store. But I will be ready and waiting for tonight's game... toilet paper and all. Perhaps I will even change into fresh clothes. How pronounced will Varitek's good luck beard be tonight? Will the beard hit a homerun? Will Youk continue to dominate?

As for your Yanks, blech. The Indians are certainly giving them a run for their money. Whoa! That score was way lopsided. I love it.

Okay, now I need to get some disinfectant for this computer. Let's hear it for a long Columbus Day weekend!

Playoffs!

Even Carlos Delgado from the Mets likes Derek and the Yankees, Dear Roxy. And what's not to like...

What a crrrraaazzy weekend in baseball! The Mets' historic collapse, the mighty Phillies in the playoffs for the first time since '93, and how can you forget the one-game playoff last night?! (I won't take anything away from the Rockies, but Holliday did not touch home plate).

And so all of the series are set! I can't wait for tomorrow. It can't come fast enough. And I'm so glad MLB has worked around my work/school schedule when they scheduled the Yankees games (at least for the first round). I just have to rush home afterwork to be able to catch the first pitch for that 5pm game. hahahaha.

I really don't wanna talk about other sports, lol. I guess I can mention the Canes win, as well as the USF Bulls (for Ana) win, and the Dolphins loss... disappointing once again.
