Does Tom Seem Happy?

Whine, whine and whine, Dear Criss. That's all you New York fans do.

So Mr. Tom Brady pulls off a nail-biter against the Bears. Talk about crazy turnovers from everyone. Then Junior Seau gets his arm broken, Bruschi got his head knocked - whoa - a 52-yard field goal by Gostkowski (channeling the Adam Vinatieri in him), and a huge save by Asante Samuels at the very end of the game with a key interception. Nice. Did you see the highlights of Tom running the ball in for a first down? He made it past Urlacher and kept the game going. I like that. Reminds me of another scramling QB named Steve Young.

And then there's the retirement of Bill Mueller. Well, you wish he could've retired as a member of the Red Sox. We'll think of him that way. Oh yes, the Steelers lost. Can you invoke the mercy rule now? But go Dolphins with a Thanksgiving win. Can you believe they could possibly make the playoffs as a wild-card team?

Highway Robbery

Yes, Dear Roxy, Derek Jeter got robbed! Find the perpetrators and lock 'em!
It's insane! Justin Morneau?!?!? Not even his teammate Mauer, but Morneau!!! Please! I’m too upset to even begin so I won’t! At least it wasn’t big Papi though. Ugghrr!

At least some good news at the Yankee front: Mike Mussina signed a two-year deal! In case you haven't noticed, it's good!

So Peyton and the Colts are no longer undefeated. It sucks but I think it's a bit of a reality check for them... it's needed sometimes.

The Dolphins play tomorrow. Let's see if they can keep this healthy streak going.

And you, my friend, are always on vacation!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving.
Gobble Gobble.

Nobody Does it Better than Jerry

Let's not forget, Jerry Rice came close to being the dancing champ last season. And as much as I have been anti-Cowboys over the years, Emmitt was good, Dear Criss... So Dallas beat the Colts. That Romo's outta control!

But speaking of Jerry Rice. He officially retired this weekend as a 49er. What a legend. I mean, I can't even believe this quote from the SF Chronicle:
"Bill Walsh took a chance and he brought me here to San Francisco,'' Rice said. "I love that guy with all my heart because when I got here, I was dropping passes all over the place. Bill Walsh saw something in me. I was able to endure it and fight through it.'' (All the best to Walsh, the West Coast offense guru, who's battling leukemia.) He then asked Steve to throw him a toss, caught it, and spiked it. Ah, the good old days. The 49ers are coming back! Look out, 5-5! Frank Gore from UM is on that team; come on, root with me. (Thanks to P for alerting me of this ridiculous plan to move the team from SF - NEVER!!!!)

On the Red Sox front, Cora got a two-year deal. Strong work for the Pats shutting out Green Bay (I know, I know); and Ben also came through in a close one with the Bengals. All I have to say is next week, Bears-Pats. Holy cow, I just can't contain myself. I think I'll go do some sprints.

P.S., I'm on vaca this week!

Emmitt the Dancer

I thought you would've taken over the blog since I haven't written anything in over a week, Dear Roxy.

It's Friday and I couldn't be happier :)
Ever since my boss left to China two weeks ago, work has been super hectic. And the next time she decides to go away for three weeks, leaving me with all the work, I'll quit! Ok, maybe not... but it sure does sound tempting.

OMG! Emmitt won Dancing with the Stars and I couldn't be happier! He was my number one choice from the get-go! He's so awesome and his personality is amazing. His moves are not too shabby either. Those hips don't lie, Emmitt! lol

What else is going on? Girardi won the NL Manager of the Year. I'm so happy for him... I'm sure another managerial job awaits him. What he did with that young team was great. Kudos!

What else, what else... some football this weekend!

3-6 Never Seemed Better

Listen, I'll take today's win, Dear Criss. It was fantastic to see Ben win, particularly when the stinkin' Jets beat my Pats. Oh my goodness. I am barely holding it together. I will be happy when the season is over so that I may torture myself with the Red Sox. Keith Foulke is gonna be gone. Mirabelli is a question mark, Trot Nixon is a heart breaker... And I saw what happened with Sheffield, but you know I don't really feel anything there.

So Willie Parker was the spotlight of the game. Did you see the highlights? I don't think he ran so much in his life! And the Dolphins pulled it off again. That was nice, wasn't it? Are they ahead of the Steelers by a game? I can't even think of it that way. It's a little sad.

Well, here we go with Monday. Did I tell you I took the week of Thanksgiving off? Rock on with the countdown!

Perspective

But why would you hit your bruise over and over again or put soap on a paper cut, Dear Roxy? If you ask me, it sounds dumb! We need to talk about that. lol.

Oh, yes, the Colts won! It seems to me that this team is better than anyone expected. Here's to hoping it continues.

How about the whole Sheffield being blocked from talking to the Boss? I haven't paid much attention to the whole thing, but can't we all get along?

A little bit of bad news, Rox. I'm sure you heard by now about Bryan Pata's untimely death. A kid with such a great future killed. It just sucks period. My condolences to his family.

UM can't seem to break out of the rut. It just seems they get bad news after bad news. Just when you thought the UM-FIU brawl was as bad as it got, a thing like this happens.

Hoping for the best.

Et Tu, Adam?

I think the only consolation to me waking up tired from yesterday’s games, Dear Criss, was knowing the Dolphins won. Otherwise, I have no comments about Ben and Tom. I can’t believe it; it drives me insane. Like hitting your bruise over and over again. Like getting soap on a paper cut. And then seeing Vinatieri in that uni… It was so sad. The commentators compared it to Johnny Damon’s debut as a Yankee. It almost felt that way. WHY, ADAM!?!!! And then the chanting, “A-dam. A-dam.” Oh, it was soooo sad. It didn’t have to be this way. Anyway, your stinkin’ Colts won, but this is not it! This is not the Super Bowl!

Well, I know you’re busy watching the Country Music Awards, so we’ll continue the taunting another time. Hope you’re feeling better. It's the stinkin' Jets next week.

Derek Jeter and More!

Let me start off by congratulating Derek Jeter for winning the Hank Aaron award, Dear Roxy. I'm such a horrible fan because this happened over two weeks ago. Oh well, better late than never. He's such a great player, and this award just shows some of his 'many' abilities. lol. ( I smell a hate blog coming.)

And let's not forget about his third Gold Glove! Amazing!!!

Anyway, how about them Colts?!?!?!
What an amazing win by the amazing Peyton. Can't say enough about that guy. The undefeated Colts played like true champions last night.

What happened to Brady and his 4 interceptions? I almost felt bad for him. I kinda like him ;)

And Ben? Let me just stop now before you come to my house and slap me around...

Enough crying, Rox. It'll get better. Look at the bright side, the Dolphins won against an undefeated team.

Isn't awesome?
